About Me

I was born and raised in West Yorkshire, where I lived within my families Funeral Directing business. I spent my 20's in London, then a couple of years in Bristol before moving to York in 2007. I have always worked within the caring professions and have been a Social Worker, working with adults, for the last 20 years.

At home I live with my husband, our 3 boys and Ginger the dog. I love them to pieces and enjoy supporting them along their life's journey.

In my spare time I like to get outside. I love long walks, trips to the coast and holidays in our caravan. I like to be active and dabble with (very slow) jogging and with yoga. I like to catch up with friends and family over a coffee or a glass of something fizzy. In any quiet moments I like to knit, crochet, watch a box-set or read a book.

I really do love getting to know people and hearing their stories. People and relationships have always been central to my life. I am calm, friendly and approachable with a positive outlook on life.

I have undertaken training for all of the ceremonies I undertake with the Academy of Modern Celebrancy.

I will work with you to ensure that your ceremony is right for you and your family. I use my warmth and creativity to create and lead ceremonies that are truly personal. I love what I do.

My logo for my Celebrant work was painted by my Mum and is a depiction of my wedding bouquet from back in 2006. It remains my favourite ever day.

For this, my first website, I have chosen to use pictures of me, my family, or photos I have taken that I feel reflect who I am.
